Fallow Deer

The fallow deer (Dama dama) is native to Europe, but also has been introduced around the world. The name fallow is derived from the deer’s pale brown fur color. In Bulgarian, the name for the fallow deer is “elen lopatar” (“shovel deer”), due to the form of its antlers.
